1. Ecosia.org
Ecosia search engine is based in Germany and uses 80% of its profits for planting trees worldwide. It delivers results similar to Google and has quite a good following globally. If you’re really concerned about its authenticity, check this.
2. DuckDuckGo
Duck Duck Go is very private and doesn’t store or sell your data to third-party companies. It is based in United States and has no trackers to track online activity of its users. It delivers results similar to Google and has a feature called bang which can be used to search different websites with keywords.
3. StartPage
It pulls results from Google search engine while not collecting your date. It is very similar to Google without Google trackers embedded into it.
4. Qwant
A private and neutral search engine based in Europe. It doesn’t store any keywords for analytics. It also provides online map service and music search engine.
5. Bing
Owned by Microsoft, it is a direct competitor of Google Search.
6. Yahoo! Search
Owned by Yahoo, a subsidiary of Verizon. It is the first search engine to popularize web searching though it is not that powerful now.
7. Wolfram Alpha
It is not a general search engine but rather a search engine to search about a specific field like sciences and math.
8. Internet Archive
An archive where you can find old documents, music, images and videos indexed by thousands of collaborators.
